Waterproof type-C motherboard electronic components are a lightweight and compact trend in the consumer equipment industry, which can be expanded into three types of interfaces: power supply/USB transmission/VGA or HDMI. Users can carry small electronic products such as smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches. The last thing users want to worry about is the environmental sensitivity of electronic products, especially in water environments, so waterproofing is very important. Waterproof Type-C Base Features

Waterproof type-c base for use
1. During operation, do not reach out to the interface to avoid being scratched by the pin chip. And after the earphone socket is powered on, do not touch the interface of the earphone socket with your hands to avoid some electric shock accidents.
2. During operation, do not exceed the specified rated current. If the rated current is generally exceeded, some components inside the USB socket will accelerate aging. In light cases, using a USB socket may cause data transmission interruption or abnormalities. In severe cases, it will directly cause damage to the waterproof type-c base, making it unusable.
Secondly, different specifications cannot be easily replaced, as not all devices are compatible with certain specifications. Otherwise, once the applied base is not suitable, it will cause damage to the waterproofing in a short period of time.

The key points of waterproof type-c base technology are that for waterproof bases above grade 7, sealing shapes need to be made around the casing. However, due to the current stamping manufacturing technology, it is difficult for the sleeve to form a complex multi-step curved shape, and due to its structural characteristics, the tongue needs to be inserted, fixed, and sealed with glue to block the gap. At this point, in order to avoid the possibility of tongue tilting insertion, industry standards require a thrust of 10kgf to be applied to the tongue without damaging its performance. The existing type-c interface has insufficient fixation force on the tongue. When the tongue is subjected to a large force, it will retreat, causing the glue to loosen and the seal to be damaged, which cannot meet the waterproof requirements.
A liquid epoxy thermosetting adhesive is also used for waterproof sealing. Some people may ask why silicone is not used. Although organic silicon has good temperature resistance after curing, RTV and thermosetting properties have not individually explained their advantages and disadvantages. The two component vulcanization type can pass the test, but for type-c with a large or dense number of needles, the adhesive is difficult to evenly distribute, the two component operation is not flexible, the hardness after curing is low, and the mechanical strength is poor. By the way, there are also fatal injuries. There are almost no bubbles during the thermal vulcanization and curing process, which is caused by the type-c structure. A liquid epoxy black adhesive does not require mixing, its viscosity is easy to adjust, and its permeability is strong. Ensure that each needle has glue, which can achieve high-speed glue spraying and improve production efficiency.
The problem of low characteristic impedance and high return loss in the signal transmission process of type-c mother base is essentially a problem of impedance discontinuity. According to the results of the simulation test, it was found that the structural issues at the connection between the male and female connectors of the connector caused abnormal signal transmission. Therefore, optimizing the structure of male and female contact parts of electrical connectors is the key to solving the Signal integrity problem of electrical connectors.
