In the era of functional computers, most of the charging interfaces for mobile phones used proprietary circular interfaces or some irregular interfaces.
In the era of smartphones, manufacturers abandoned the circular interface and instead chose the micro USB interface. Now, the mainstream charging port is type-c.
Looking at the domestic market, except for a few low-end hundred yuan machines owned by manufacturers that still use micro USB interfaces, most of them have turned to type-c.
There are two main reasons why manufacturers are turning to type-c. Compared with micro USB, type-c has a slimmer design while also having higher transmission rate and charging speed. Type-c port+USB 3.1 can achieve a maximum transmission rate of 10Gbps and a maximum charging power of 100W.
Compared to micro USB, type-c has a more obvious advantage - it supports forward and backward blind insertion. Micro USB needs to choose the insertion direction, while type-c does not, completely solving the world's persistent problem of "never inserting correctly" in the era of micro USB.
It is worth noting that the type-c industry standards and specifications were released by the USB Developer Forum (USB-IF) and have little relationship with domestic mobile phone manufacturers. The first model to use this interface globally was the Nokia N1, followed by Apple's MacBook consumer grade laptop.
The first mobile phone manufacturer in China to use the type-c interface is LeTV. Compared to Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, and other major domestic manufacturers, they tend to be conservative towards the type-c. After the type-c became the mainstream trend, they began to follow and launch related models.
However, the reality is that many people refer to type-C as "Huawei's mouth". If it's just a simple rumor, it's easy to say, but the key is that many people believe it.
Why do I think of writing this article? The reason is that during the Chinese New Year, relatives came to my house to pay New Year's greetings, and my phone ran out of battery while playing games. I was asked if I had a "Huawei port" charger, which caused a brief confusion?
After receiving the phone, I found out that it was a type c port. When did the type port become a "Huawei port" and he still used OPPO? An OPPO phone holder asked me if I had a "Huawei port" charger.
It seems that 'type-c' means' Huawei port ', and this concept has penetrated into many people's hearts and has a considerable market potential.
If micro USB is called an "Android port", it is understandable because in the early years, the micro USB port was indeed used by over 99% of Android smartphones, and the Lighting port was also known as the "Apple port" without any reason, because the Lighting port has always been Apple's unique interface mode
But being called "Huawei Port" by type-c is a bit of a misnomer, because type-c is an industry-wide protocol, and the globally recognized name is "type-c" rather than "Huawei Port".
In the drafting and formulation of type-c industry standards and specifications, most domestic manufacturers have not participated and have not made significant contributions, so they are referred to as "Huawei's mouth", which gives a sense of forced marketing. If so, Xiaomi can call it "Xiaomi's mouth", and OPPO can also call it "OPPO's mouth".
Finally, even if named according to the name of the mobile phone manufacturer that first used the TypeC vertical mount port in China, it should still be called "Le Viewport" rather than "Huawei Port".
If you find it difficult to speak and pronounce "type-c" in English, you can simply refer to it as "C", which is indirect and easy to remember.
