Recently, it was reported that the European Union has passed a resolution requiring mobile phones to use the same charger. The reason for this is that there are still different standards in the industry, and the charging line and charging head are in chaos, which leads to users changing devices and replacing new chargers, resulting in a large amount of Electronic waste and waste of resources.
This is undoubtedly a huge pressure for Apple. We know that there are currently three main types of mobile phone interfaces in the market, namely Apple's Lightning, the micro-b interface for previous generation Android phones, and the latest standard type-c interface. But why has Apple been so persistent in not replacing its phone charging port. Do people think it's for the sake of users? Of course not, because Apple has always wanted to create a product ecosystem that is independent of all phones, from power adapters to iPhones, iPads, and so on, in order to firmly grasp consumers.
Buying a product will inevitably lead to purchasing a complete set of services, so how can one replace their own charging head. In fact, as early as 2020, the European Union had already ordered a unified law on mobile phone interfaces. However, due to Apple's intervention, no change was made to this situation. However, this time it seems that they are determined to tidy up Apple. If the charging interface is not changed to a type-c interface, Apple will be required to launch the European market, and such strict measures are expected to change Apple's new products this year.
Alright, now that we understand the regulations in the European Union for the electronic industry such as mobile phones, let's take a look at whether there are any regulations related to automobiles. Now in September 2020, the European Union introduced new regulations that require stricter emissions. It is expected that legislative proposals will be put forward for the new round of Euro 7 emission standards in the fourth quarter of this year. Euro 7 emission standards will further reduce the maximum allowable emissions of air pollutants, such as fine particulate matter, hydrocarbons, and carbon monoxide, and are expected to take effect as soon as 2025.
