The USB PD protocol has good fast charging compatibility, as well as data transmission capacity of up to 40Gbps, supporting applications in mobile phones, laptops, high-end displays, and storage devices.
The transmission of higher power and the carrying of high-speed data have also put forward new requirements for other protection and security measures of the type-c interface. To prevent static electricity from damaging bus equipment, protecting devices is essential. WP3881 is an overvoltage protection chip that supports 4.8A continuous current and is equipped with a 35m Ω NMOS transistor for circuit switching. The input voltage supports 2.5-28V, the overvoltage lockout protection voltage is 5.95V, the overvoltage protection response time is 100nS, the overvoltage protection threshold can be set from 4-20V, the input jitter removal time is 21mS, and the built-in overheating protection supports 100V surge.
WP3116 is a high current overvoltage protection chip that supports 4.5A continuous current and is equipped with an NMOS protection tube with a built-in resistance of 30m Ω. The overvoltage blocking protection voltage is 5.95V, supporting 100V surges, and has a 50nS response time.
WP3883CL is an overvoltage protection chip that supports 4A output current, with a built-in NMOS protection transistor with a conductivity of 29m Ω. The input voltage range is 2.5-28V, and the overvoltage lockout protection voltage is 6.8V, with a 50nS response time. The overvoltage protection threshold can be freely set between 4-20V, with an input jitter removal time of 15mS and a built-in overheat shutdown protection function.
In terms of electronic fuses, Weian has launched two devices, namely WP1430 with fixed parameters and WP1111 with support for lithium battery front-end protection.
WP1430 has a built-in 110m Ω NMOS, an input voltage range of 2.5-36V, an built-in overvoltage protection voltage of 6.1V, and supports 2.5A overcurrent protection. The output overvoltage response time is less than 500nS, and the input jitter removal time is 16mS. It also has a built-in overheat shutdown protection function.
WP1111 is an adjustable EFUSE electronic fuse with overcurrent protection, featuring 1 μ The input overvoltage response time of S has programmable overcurrent protection and current limitation, supports lithium battery front-end protection, and supports 30V input voltage. Supports 1.5A output current, has overheat shutdown protection function, supports enable control and status output.
